The history of Szczecin dates back to the 8th century. Over a period of of a couple of centuries, the city grew rapidly and its status increased. Szczecin has many interesting sights and it definitely is worth visiting Attractions: rich displays in the Sea Museum; The beautiful King's Gate from the 18th century; Chrobry's Embankments (Waly Chrobrego) over 19 meters high - from the top of which you can get a wonderful view; The 14th century church of Saint Jan with several polychromes; The National Museum where modern art is exhibited; Fountain's Alley which, because of its radial arrangement,reminds one of Paris.
